Partnership with the non-profit organisation ZACYDO

Another of our long-term projects is a collaboration with an NGO working in Zanzibar, a picturesque island located between the waves of the warm Indian Ocean, which is part of the Democratic Republic of Tanzania. ZACYDO is held together by a group of local enthusiasts, educated social workers, who volunteer their spare time to do the possible and impossible for their community because they know it is simply necessary. We have known each other for several years and have managed to do some good deeds together in that time. ZACYDO, or ZANZIBAR CHILD AND YOUTH DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION, is primarily concerned with the protection of the rights of children and youth, especially their protection from abuse and sexual abuse. They regularly hold talks in schools to educate children and young people about their rights and teach them how to act in situations where their rights are violated in any way. One of their main goals is to empower them and help them grow into strong and healthy individuals. They also work with children living in very difficult life conditions, orphans or physically and mentally disabled children and youth. They regularly organize children's corners where children have the opportunity to spend time playing and having fun, but also offer them a space to open up and talk about painful topics. Zacydo regularly organizes collections and distributes food, meals and other necessities to the neediest families. From time to time, if they are lucky, they give children the opportunity to experience joyful and memorable moments and organize a fun day or trip for them. There is so much that they do and their work is a great benefit to the local community.

Some of the photos were taken by Happy Childhood, most belong to ZACYDO. To protect against abuse, all are watermarked.
